Recently Google announced that; they are very much strict about 404 pages of a site as they cause of Negative and bad user experiences for the end users. It’s not exactly the Google’s Duty to send any Searcher to send any 404’Ed pages when they were desperately looking for information or solutions to save their back. So, Google has been decided to penalize these site’s authority and ranking by dropping them from their SERPs in order to increase the users better using experiences with Google Search.

In this issue; as a webmaster you must have to fall in trouble if your site serves too many bad or broken links, non-existent pages and 404 pages. Your site might be dropped at the next ranking update if you don’t remove these 404 pages from your site ASAP. But, here is a problem that most of the webmasters or bloggers will face; their websites might have hundreds to thousands of 404 pages and removing these pages manually is something like disaster.

Hopefully, there are still some solutions that can save your huge valuable time. You may have to tweak your Codes or use some Plugins that will redirect your 404 pages to your Main Page or any other similar pages where you would like to turn your visitors into. It is worth mentioning that; I am sharing tips on how to remove bad and error links along with 404 pages by redirecting to any other pages for any WordPress installed blog.

Adding Codes on Functions.php file

Put the codes from below to your functions.php file on your WordPress blog. After saving this code on that page, just save it. You are done! It will apply a 301 redirection to a 404 page to another page which you will mention in the code instead of http://www.yoursite.com/.

Removing 404 Pages Using Google Webmaster Tools

This will not permanently delete 404 pages from your site. It will just de-index your already crawled 404 pages from Google bot. To do that, go to the Google Webmasters Tool, click on any of your site which you want to optimize and then look at the left sidebar to find “Site Configuration”. From the site configuration menu, go to “Crawler Access” page. On that page click on the “Remove URL” menu where you can enter your indexed 404 page links. It will take several days to be completely de-indexed that broken link or 404 links from Google Bot.

Fixing 404 Pages by using Redirection Plugin

Click here to download Redirection Plugin for your blog. Install it and go for optimizing your 404 pages. In the Add New Redirection setting; just paste your broken or 404 enabled links on the “Source URL” box and enter your desired URL on the “Target URL” box. Here your 404 links will have a 301 redirection to your target page. It’s really a superb idea to redirecting an error page in this way. Super easy!

How To Transfer WordPress Blog From One Hosting To Another Hosting Without Site Down

Transferring a WordPress blog from one hosting panel to another hosting panel or other hosting companies without any blog site down is little bit tricky or kinda advanced task for the newbies who just started blogging but never worried about Hosting cPanel. Whenever I heard from my hosting space provider about some months ago that they are going to close their hosting services and I will have to transfer my WordPress blogs hosted on their hosting space to any other providers I like. And I will have to do it myself. Huh! This was a nightmare for me. Because, I know a little about Hosting settings and the so called Databases and Directory. And transferring a server without making this site down to intact the SEO benefits and visitors was seemed the hardest task ever.

But I didn’t give it up at all. I knew I will be able to do it as I have some friends who are well-aware of this kind of task and I know how to use Google. Finally, I have been able to transfer all of my WordPress blogs to another hosting server that I have bought from another company.

Today I am going to share the whole easier process that I followed to transfer my blogs and some other hosting documents to another hosting server.

So, the step by step guides of how I transferred my WordPress Blogs from one hosting to another hosting server are given below:-

Tasks on Your Old Hosting cPanel

Here you will have to work with your old hosting server where all of your blogs were hosted. Here is the step by step guide on what to do:-

Download the Databases

Databases are the files that you created or your Fantastico or Softaculous Program created these while you installed the WordPress on your blogs. In your old Hosting cPanel, you will find these on the cPanel home under the File Menu.

Click on the Backup Wizard Folder and you will be taken to a page where you see the Backup and Restore options. Just click on the Backup button.

Here you see two options named Full Backup and Partial Backup. On the Partial Backup column you should select the MySQL Databases.

Here you see a list of databases that were created while installing WordPress on your blogs. Just click on a Database file to download. Each Database file will be downloaded in .sql.gz format. In this step you can ask me that how do I know which one database of that list is exactly for what blog of mine? Well, then check your older Emails by typing WordPress/Fantastico/Softaculous on your Email Account’s search box. It’s because, while installing WordPress on a blog by using any cPanel software like Fantastico or Softaculous; it send all the installation data to a given Email Address along with Database Name and Passwords. After finding the specific email, check the database name and go back to your Hosting cPanel’s Backup Wizard and download the SQL Database.

After backing up the Database file; please save it on your Hard Drive.

Download the Directory File

After downloading the Database File of a Blog; it’s your time to download the directory file. In the directory file all of your blog settings, Plugins, themes, designs are stored. So download the entire folder and store it on your pc. But, how to do it? Well, here are the steps:-

Enter on your Old Hosting cPanel. On the main page you will find the File Manager folder under the Files Menu.

Click on the File Manager folder. It will be prompted a selection box where you will have to choose the desired domain name from the Drop Down box. Choose the domain name of that blog which you want to transfer. Then click on Go button. Clicking on GO button will take you to the dashboard of all of your sites.

See the left side of the page. Here you will find a folder named public_html with a +sign before it. + sign means that this folder contains some other folders and are expandable. Click on the +Button now. Here find your blog’s Domain or URL which you want to transfer. Click on the +button on the left of your Domain Name to expand it. After expanding it you will some +button added folders again named wp-admin, wp-content, wp_includes etc. Now click on the wp-content folder. Remember, this time you don’t have to expand the folder. Just click directly over the wp-content folder. After clicking on that folder; you will see all of the contents of that folder have been expanded on the right side.

Now select all of the content folders by clicking on the Select All box located at top of that page.

After selecting the folders just compress it by using the compress button. Your compressed files will be stored on the same page from where you download these by ending in .zip format.

Now download the .zip file on your Computer. Congratulations! You have successfully downloaded your Directory files to your computer. Now the second part of this blog transferring process is began.

Task on your New Hosting cPanel

I am sure you have been able to successfully download your Blog’s Database Files and Directory files by using the easier step by step methods I have given above.

Adding Domain on New Hosting – Install WordPress – Upload Database

Add your domain on your new hosting server by using the Addon Domains option which you will find under your cPanel’s Domains Menu.
Add a fresh new WordPress on your Domain

After adding the domain on your new server; install a new WordPress on that domain. You can use Fantastico or Softaculous software provided by your hosting provider to install WordPress on your domain.

After installing WordPress on your domain; you have to go to phpMyAdmin folder under the Databases Menu on the front page of your cPanel in order to replace the existing Database with the Downloaded Databases from your Computer.

To do so, go to phpMyAdmin and click on the existing database found on the left side of the phpMyAdmin dashboard. Now find the Import tab at the top of the page and click on the Import Button. You will be prompted to a page where you can upload your Database that you download from your old server by using the Browse Option. After selecting your download database from the browse button click on Go button located at footer of that page. Wait until the database is fully uploaded. This will automatically replace the existing database with the imported database.

Upload your downloaded directory file on new server

After installing and replacing the Database file following my steps above; now you have to upload the Directory files that you have downloaded from your previous sever and stored on your computer to this new hosting server.

To do that, go to the File Manager menu and find your Domain on the left side from the public_html option and click on the + button to find the wp-content folder. Click on the wp-content folder; you will see the existing newly installed WordPress files on there.

Now find the upload button at the top and upload your downloaded directory files (from your previous hosting server) to your new hosting server.

After uploading your Directory files on your new server you must Extract/unzip that uploaded folder. To do that, use the Extract button at the top.

Congrats! All the crucial steps you have already been followed! Every kind of files from your previous hosting space has already been uploaded to your new hosting server. That’s great. Remember; always upload your Database first on your new server and then upload the directory files. This process will protect the database files to create new Tables on your database.

Notes: I highly recommend you to recheck the Database Table Prefix from your old hosting panel and that should be matched with your newly replaced database. Sometimes it is changed and you have to change the newly installed database prefix with your older one manually. To do that, enter on your older hosting cPanel and go to file manager and extend the public_html folder. After extending that folder, click directly on the domain name on which you are working for transfer. At the right side you will find a php file named wp-config.php. Just open the wp-config.php file by using the Code Editor and check the database table prefix. Copy the database table prefix and replace it on your newly installed database prefix which you will find on your new hosting CPanel’s phpMyAdmin Page; there you check the structure of your database and see if any other prefix is exist there. Most of the time you will find the same db prefix there; but if you find it unmatched then match it by using the select all function with your older prefix.

Update your Domain Name Servers (DNS) now

It’s the time to update the DNS pointing to your new hosting server. Normally a DNS takes maximum of 12 hours to be fully activated and functional. If you follow the steps above; your site will not be down because your blogs will be running on your previous DNS until the DNS is updated and when the DNS will be updated, your domain will find the replaced database and uploaded Directory files on the new server as you have already done that tasks before.

This is how I transferred all of Domains and Sub domains from my older Hosting server to a new hosting server without any site down or visitors loosing problems.

Why You Shouldn’t Buy Your Domain & Hosting Space From Local Bangladeshi Reseller?

After the lots of miseries and sufferings; today I am being compelled to write this post about a local Bangladeshi Domain Reseller and some other domain & hosting selling companies of Bangladesh.

You know, in these days everyone who are related to blogging world owns at-least one domain. And those who are doing several businesses online and who are running lots of blogs or websites in order to make money online; Domain & Hosting is must. Like me, most of the Bangladeshi guys initially buy domains and hosting space from the local reseller in order to get instant support by calling them. Easy payment system by Bank or Hand to Hand cash is another reason peoples here from Bangladesh buy domains and hosting from them as PayPal is not yet available in this country.

Today, I am sharing some of my experiences with several reseller domains and hosting company of Bangladesh on about their customer services.

I am basically a Blogger and own several domains and these were bought from a domain seller of BD named Compusoftbd.com (shame on them). Everything was alright unless some of my domains reach the expiry date limit. Today is a day while writing this article; one of my domains is still on expired date though I have paid more than 1400 BDT few months ago for renewal any domains of mine if any is expired. This is the real scenario of Bangladeshi domain seller. I was continuously calling the Domain Reseller to renew my site but they are not renewing my domain and even they are not receiving my phone call at all. What a service huh!

The Domain Reseller might have any problem; but he should let me know that. He might have any other urgent work; he can tell me about that. But without doing anything he turned his mobile phone switched off and not even renewing my domains. I am totally frustrated with the behavior and services of these holy shits.

Now my question is: how much their reseller business is worth? Who have no customer services and who are not even responding to their clients; I am in doubt that if they have any business ideas. They have no right to ruin my business which worth more than their rubbish, crappy domain reselling business.

I just don’t know what to do now. I know I will get back my domain eventually; but what about my visitors and earnings from that site?

Well, this is another experiences and a great learning about buying a service from the Bangladeshi domain seller and I will not do this wrong at future.

I request to all of you Bangladeshi guys that; don’t buy any domain or hosting from these newly run Bangladeshi local bustards. You better try on Godaddy or Namecheap to buy your domain. If you don’t have PayPal then try to manage one of your friends who have PayPal and then buy domain or hosting whatever you like. Don’t do the same mistake that I have done.

How To Show Up to 100 Search Results in Google Result Page?

We all know that Google Homepage only shows 10 search results if we search anything on it. This is a feature of Google which is called Google Instant. Although Google Instant is a faster browsing option for the Google users; but if you need more search results in the home page just after searching the keyword, you still have the options to choose that.

By default the Google Instant Options is kept ON and this is why Google always shows you only 10 top results in the search result page. You just need to OFF that service from your Google Search Settings page. Even, you can show as many result as you want within the 100 numbers limit. The one drawbacks of showing maximum number of Search result in one page is: it’s slower than the default options. That means; the less number of search items you show on Google Result page; the faster your searching experiences will be.

Let’s go to step by step guide on: How to show up to 100 Search Results or any numbers you want on Google Search Result page:-

At first go to Google Homepage. Look at the right upper corner where you can see a Circle Setting icon looks like below. Just click on it.
Click In the “Search Settings” option. The Search Settings page will be opened which is looks like below.
In the “Google Instant Prediction” option you will see the Instant service is ON by default. You just need to click on the “ON” button to make this “OFF”. OFF means; your Google Instant search service is currently off. However, you can change these settings whenever you want.
After turning the Google Instant Prediction Service setting to OFF, you will see that the “Results per page” options is enabled and there you can Drag the button to select which exact results you want to show on the result page. You will have the options to choose from 10 to 100. By dragging that button to 100 means, whenever you search something on Google, the result page will show the top 100 results.
At last, save the settings you have changed by clicking on “Save” button by scrolling down to the setting page. Now enjoy your newly set-up result options to show 100 search results in the single result page.

Cautions: The more results on page the slower your results will be showed. So, my recommendation is to stick on the default Google Instant option unless you need it for further researching on your own business. You can track your project performance with the issue tracking software

My New Year’s Resolutions | Things I Have To Do | Goals I Have To Achieve In 2012

The year of 2011 is about to pass. It’s time to flash back through the whole previous year and reminding the odd shits and good memories to evaluate what I have achieved already and what should have done but didn’t yet. It’s time to plan for some fresh resolutions with my life and everything that I am planning to do at New Year.

Things I Haven’t Yet Been Accomplished At Last Year

In this ShamimNasir blog; I published a post about my New Year resolution at the beginning of 2011. Most of these plans haven’t yet been accomplished as I was not too much serious about it. It’s not because I had no wish to make these things happen; but I was too lazy to take action. Shame on me! Anyways, I have found some major failure or un-achievement last year. It’s very much tough to accumulate everything in a post; but some major mistakes have been noted down as below:-

Not being updated with the present social media. It happens to me and to my websites/blog too. At the middle of this year; I lost hope of getting social media traffics for my blogs and at some time I deactivated all of my social media profiles to stay completely anonymous on virtual world. Which was a big mistake as some of my blogs lost their Ranking on SERPs due to being absent in some major social media that most of the top Search Engines like most in these days.
I had a plan to make some Niche Sites solely for making money. I knew what the methods to make money from internet but I didn’t give it a try. That means; the whole plan was demolished due to my laziness or lacking of the dare to take instant action. You know, you can’t dream for thousands of Dollars without taking a single action.
I had a plan for writing more and wasting less time on bizarre things on net; but I did all the unnecessary things that wasted my time and killed lots of valuable time. You know, time is money now a day.
Wanted to achieve more skills on Programming, Web Developing, Graphic Designing, Affiliate Marketing or lots more but none of these have been accomplished properly. It’s not because I didn’t have enough time; but it’s all about absence of proper willingness to complete a task at proper time. I know, I didn’t take a single initiative to let the task to be accomplished.
Made lots of faulty decisions with my life, my family, my career and some other personal stuff.
Chosen some awful friends (?) on my virtual life. A very great mistake that I would never forget. How a good time can be turned into Hell; I just had been noticed. Although; it was a great learning for my life…..but I would like to enlist this matter into my fails list as this wasted a lot of time and it taught me how to misbehave with a people which I never expected and didn’t do with anybody else before.
I had the resolutions to say 5 times prayer each day no matter how difficulties I would face on. But, I can’t remember how many times I have missed to offer my prayer to almighty Allah just for my laziness or lacking of good will. Alas!
Had wished to get myself admitted in a University for taking the MBA Degree; but didn’t take it. I was unsure about my career and education life. Huh!

My Top 10 New Year’s Goals & New Things I Have to Do This Year

Again, I am planning to have some awesome resolution for this new year of 2012. At this time, I am more serious about my New Year goals and more conscious about the failures of my previous year. Hope; everything would be fun to do and enjoyable to work with while taking action is a matter.

Have to diversify the income stream. It’s not only on the online money making streams; but also in some offline properties. I have to invest some of my money to any business where no online activities will be required. And in the sense of online money making; I have to look for some new opportunities to monetize my online properties. No matter what the initial return of a new ideas and not how they are paying; but I would like to give it a try. I want to make money online from as much way as I can afford. If I am to take any risky decision; if I am to spend some money or if I am to buy some online apps/software to accelerate my thoughts and task, then I will definitely go with it. Will think like a professional and be like them. Whenever new ideas will be raised on my mind; I will instantly take action to turn that idea into my money making machine. That’s it. The ideas may be aggressive; but I would like to be. There is no way to get me seat on the last bench of a Class.
Need to be more active on some forum that I have already chosen and be more regular on some pages online which would be great source of my passive income. I will not waste a single minute in doing some bizarre things online; rather I will pass my every minute to learn something new and will implement these instantly.
Got some new social media using concepts and to walk in the same road beside of the Search Engine’s continuously algorithms & ranking updates I will implement all the tricks and tips that I have already learned and still researching.
Will make my sites an Authority in its current marketplace and customers. Will take initiatives to make these as a BRAND too.
Lots of new business ideas are currently making buzz on my brain. Just need to turn these buzzes into reality. Have to work a lot to run these ideas on my virtual space.
No more childish thinking; no more laziness; no more wasted times.
Will try to get rid of some bad habits like Cigarettes.
Will offer my five times prayer. It’s not only for me but also for the Creator who have created us beautifully to live in this amazing world.
Lots of things to do for my Parents, my siblings and my friends too. Will be more cooperative to my relatives and surroundings.
Will try to be a good friend, a good blogger, a good brother, a good officer, a good boy, a good mentor and most importantly a good Human Being.
